Privacy Notice
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This notice explains what personal data the operator of the petolegal.hu website processes about visitors, for what purpose and on what legal basis, and what rights you may exercise. It has been prepared in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR).
1. The controller
Dr. Tamás T. Pető, sole practitioner attorney-at-law, member of the Budapest Bar Association (Budapesti Ügyvédi Kamara).

- E-mail: tamas@petolegal.hu

2. Data processed
The website processes only the data you voluntarily provide in the contact form:
- full name
- e-mail address
- content of the message
3. Purpose and legal basis
The purpose of the processing is to respond to your enquiry and to maintain contact prior to any engagement.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the checkbox on the form. Where the enquiry is aimed at establishing an engagement, the legal basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Retention period
Data submitted through the form is retained until the enquiry has been handled and, where no engagement follows, for no longer than 1 year, after which it is deleted. (The exact period is subject to the attorney’s confirmation.)
If an engagement follows from the enquiry, the processing of the data is governed by Act LXXVIII of 2017 on the Activities of Attorneys-at-Law (Üttv.) and related legislation, including the rules on attorney–client privilege and mandatory record retention.
5. Important notice
Please do not send confidential, special-category or otherwise sensitive information through the contact form. A message sent through the form does not constitute an attorney engagement, and electronic messaging cannot be regarded as a fully secure channel. The details of your matter are best discussed in person or by telephone.
6. Processors and recipients
Data is disclosed only to the extent necessary for the operation of the service. The service providers used are:
- Web3Forms — the service that delivers the data submitted in the form by e-mail.
- Apple (iCloud Mail) — the provider operating the attorney’s e-mail mailbox, which stores the incoming message.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) — the hosting and content delivery (CDN) provider of the website, which processes IP addresses and technical log data for the purposes of delivery and security.
7. Transfers to third countries
The service providers used have United States ties, so transfers of data outside the European Economic Area cannot be excluded. Providers typically rely for such transfers on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. Details of the safeguards applied at any given time are set out in the privacy policy of the provider concerned.
8. Cookies and the map
The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking solution.
The map embedded in the Contact section is a Google service. When the map is displayed, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers, which may receive technical data (such as your IP address) and may set cookies. Google’s own privacy policy applies to these: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
9. Your rights
In connection with the processing you may exercise the following rights:
- access to the personal data processed about you,
- rectification of inaccurate data,
- erasure of the data,
- restriction of processing,
- data portability,
- objection to the processing,
- withdrawal of your consent at any time, which does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
10. Contact and remedies
Requests relating to the exercise of your rights may be submitted to tamas@petolegal.hu.
If you consider that the processing infringes your rights, you may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), and you may also bring the matter before a court.
